About

We do the sleuthing so you don’t have to

I can’t help myself, I think about design 24/7. Whether I’m in a showroom (legit at work), at an art exhibition (kinda at work) or on the beach with my kids (def not at work); I am constantly sucking in all that design inspiration, storing it away in my head (or my iPhone) to pull out as needed when designing a space. Project Design is a result of combining that non-stop archiving machine with many, many years of renovation & new build experience, a design diploma and a solid process to create a business of transforming spaces.

Values

When I first started out, I had a business mentor sit me down and tell me to write down my 3 top values in my life and then we discussed how those could translate into the business ethos. This what I came up with.

  1. The Care Factor

I am always going to be a person who cares - about others’ feelings, about the small design details, about the integrity of my work. Maybe I do care little too much at times, but it is something I truly value - caring for the people in my life, the people I am serving in my business, the trades and vendors I get to work alongside and of course, caring for the ultimate outcomes on the project.

  2. Authenticity

Yes this is an often incorrectly and overused word but one who’s true meaning I value immensely. To me authenticity means that your values, ideals and actions align; basically what you see is what you get.

  3. Method to the madness

Ok, just want to say it out loud here - I AM NOT TYPE A! I am creative, I am a problem solver, I am good listener…. BUT I am not really that keen at the traditional ‘type A’ stuff. So why, then, do I love and truly value systems and processes so much?? Because they allow me to be my creative, authentic (see above) ideas orientated self. The hard work that has gone into developing the systems and processes at Project Design truly allow the creative to shine AND the projects to run smoothly.
